religion V grace
Before we met Jesus personally in our inner courts,
we may have tried to find Him by doing good works in the outer courts, in our own strength.
How confusing and frustrating that was,
because we couldn't tell if we'd ever done enough
for God to forgive, love and except us.
But we know now thank God, these religious acts are all irrelevant, and the truth is, unlike religion,
our God loves us despite what we do, not because of it.
1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
we may have tried to find Him by doing good works in the outer courts, in our own strength.

1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
1Co 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
We know that work for salvation is in vain,
and nothing that we do outside has the power to alter, or improve upon, what our Lord has already done for us on our inner courts.
So it doesn't matter how hard we try,
the universal Church cannot make, achieve or encourage herself in any way to become any more one, or any less one,
then she already is.
It's still all about His grace,
"It is finished", Jesus said so.
